ANXIETY DISORDERS

Anxiety is such a part of today’s culture that most people don’t realize that it can undermine our lives until we lose our way and “crash.” Until then, we simply don’t feel like eating, can’t sleep, can’t relax, lose our interest in experiences, people, and activities that once made us happy.

There are several kinds of anxiety disorders, including:

  • Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD)
  • Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Panic Disorder
  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
  • Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD), and
  • Stress Disorder

These illnesses cause an individual to be filled with fearfulness and uncertainty that can last 6 months or longer, and they can get worse without treatment. These anxieties are not like normal anxiety caused by a single stressful event but, as with generalized anxiety disorder, these can become excessive.
