OUR TEAM OF COUNSELORS
Henry Stribling, LCSW
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 25 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults and families who are facing emotional and behavioral difficulties. I work with each individual and family to find unique solutions to these difficulties.
After undergraduate work at the University of Richmond (BS, 1988), I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from Virginia Commonwealth University. Since then, I have worked in both the public and private sectors, with a focus on children and adolescents. My clinical experience includes work with young people who are facing serious issues of life such as divorce, as well as with traumatized children and those diagnosed with ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Developmental Disorders, and Oppositional/Defiant Disorder.
In private practice, I have expanded my client base to include adults and couples that facing challenges of everyday life. I seek to help each individual find their place in life knowing that while our history impacts our present it does not dictate our future.
I believe that it is important to work closely with parents to build a strong and supportive environment so young people will learn how to manage themselves in a healthy and productive manner. I also believe that it is important to treat the whole person: emotionally, physically, socially, intellectually, and spiritually. I encourage all of my clients to address each of these areas as they move through treatment. With this in mind, I approach each client as a growing and dynamic individual, and work to create a therapeutic experience that is tailored to the needs of each child and family.
Kim Stribling, LCSW
I have a B.A. in Psychology and a Masters degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than fifteen years of clinical experience working with individuals and couples who have a variety of challenges including; medical crisis, day to day stressor and adjustments, life changes (including but not limited to: job change, transition to college), anxiety, adjustment and situational depression.
Through open and supportive dialogue, we can work together to effectively adjust to challenges and changes in your life. To accomplish this goal, the approach is to work with you to gain greater insight and self-awareness into these areas of your life that are causing you distress. We will work together to establish goals and strive to meet them. With a team approach to therapy, we will set manageable goals; achieve them and begin to build a foundation based on successes. This will enable you to handle much larger and more complex situations as they arise.
I will assist you in restoring peace and improving your quality of life by engaging in interactive conversation, providing insight, offering guidance about effective coping strategies, and encouraging you to change the way you handle stress. Together, we can restore your well-being.
